Welcome to Garganta de los Montes
Throat of Montes and the Cuadrón, populations located in the extreme northwest of the Community of Madrid, constitute the front door to the High Valley of the Lozoya, one of the most special corners of the Mountain range of Guadarrama. Hidden it enters mounts and hills, are abren to the North river on the other hand, where the dam of Riosequillo locks up the water of the Lozoya, authentic spring of the Madrilenian Community.
Their landscapes are the modeled result of the slow one of the human being who during centuries has made use of this territory. The traditional advantage of the natural resources has left in the landscape a printed mark unmistakable; this land of cattle crossed by cattle routes and gorges forms a mosaic of meadows, oaks and short that they invite to the stroll.
